Kelly's New Smyrna Beach home

Meet Kelly

From the east coast of North Carolina, Kelly now lives in New Smyrna Beach, Florida in a 2 story home built in the 1940s. She is a textile and interior designer, who creates retro inspired prints for clothing and home decor.

How would you describe your style and home?

I would describe my home and style as a little retro, eclectic, & mid-century inspired.

Favourite area in your home and why?

My favorite area in my home is probably the dining room, we have a yellow mid century couch under a window with lots of hanging plants, and it's just a really cozy nook.

Favourite decor piece, where you got it from?

Favorite decor piece would be all of my vintage rattan and bamboo chairs! It's too hard to choose just one! 

Favourite plant(s), plant pot/hanger/stand and where you got it from?

My favorite plants are my string of pearls succulents, they are just so exquisite to look at-not to mention easy to take care of. My favorite planter is hands down my disco ball planter from @la.discoteca she paints the inside of disco balls and it's such a fun piece to hang!

Coolest feature of your home? 

I'd say the coolest feature of our home is the view from the second story porch, we live on the intercoastal waterway and it feels like we're in a tropical jungle with the mangroves and wild animals. 

Your favourite DIY?

I consider my job to be a DIY of sorts, I create the fabric I want and cover most of my furniture and chairs into unique one of a kind pieces.

We are turning this home into our dream home one project at a time, we just replaced our stairs with a modern floating stairway, next will be a pool!
