Ikebana vase and Kenzan
Ikebana vase and Kenzan
One of my biggest pet peeves when making arrangements is when flowers don't stay in place. Let me introduce you to Ikebana! Ikebana is a traditional Japanese art form of flower arranging that dates back to before the 15th century. Included in your package is a porcelain vase and brass Kenzan, that is similar to a flower frog. Place the Kenzan in the middle of the vase. Next, take any foliage or flowers, and pierce them in the spikes of the Kenzan to hold them in place. Pour water right into the vase to keep your flowers fresh! Ikebana is all about beauty in imperfection, you can make something beautiful with materials right from your backyard.
Replace the water in your vase each day. After use, scrub the vase with dish soap.
